My banshee crashes too very often after upgrading Ubuntu.

Access to logs is useful in my case to see the status of dnsmasq and if its
issuing ip addresses correctly. I am using it as a dhcp server. Log viewer is a
convenient location where I get to see what it is doing without knowing where
the logs are located.

Note that failure to start X isn't the only reason that lightdm might
fail to start; one case I had was where the configured greeter wasn't
installed and thus lightdm shut down X itself rather than X taking
lightdm down.

HDMI audio on AMD/ATI GPUs has been disabled by default, see

details.
If you want to try enabling HDMI audio, add radeon.audio=1 to your GRUB
boot command line.

Don't bother with the newest version, gnome-shell is still broken with
fglrx 11.9 (at least on my 5770 GPU).
