I have the same problem. I am running Linux Mint 12 RC, which is based
on Oneiric, and the MintMenu seems to crash gnome-shell sometimes, too.
I know it is considered a different distro, but maybe this is helpful.

the output of parted's print free command to decide where to start the
new partition, and that shows the free space starts at 16.4kb.

I have been using Ubuntu 11.04 for 6 month, decided to upgrade to 11.10
and killed my system had to reformat and Install. Have been using 11.10
about 3 weeks and it stopped booting did research found nothing so I
tried to reinstall. got this error sorry not a tech guy don't

When using urlsnarf it crashes right away with the following dmesg message:

The command i issued was:

I moved my .config/deluge out of the way completely and it resolved my
issue. I kept it around if it is useful, but it sounds like this issue
has been identified.

Hey folks - why does nothing happen here
I just wanted to burn a DVD-R - no luck. Says it's got 1,9GB of free
space instead of around 4 GB! Plus: I cannot select the media, and if I
do Brasero immediately crashes!
What is this bug about? Hardware incompatibility?
PLEASE HELP!

Although this bug is reported on LTS 10.04, I've to report that the bug
still exists in kernel 3.1 (I'm on Debian though)! Even with swap turned
off, the system still hangs as soon as there is insufficient memory.
Stranger thing is, in iotop, it lists kswapd0 as having the most I/O%
