I am experiencing this issue and can trigger it by downloading via bittorrent.
if i limit the number of connections it seems to take longer to occur. I am
running Ubuntu 11.10.

@Dereck, did you try booting with slub_debug kernel parameter? I expect
it help to track down the issue, if it's a double free or other memory
corruption it should print some traces in dmesg helping pinpoint the
real issue.
