I found the solution to my problem in the forum. In System
Stettings/Universal Access, enable then disable the screen reader.
Seems like a silly solution, but it worked for me.

versioning) as part of a non-library package. It also triggers a
lintian error postinst-must-call-ldconfig. But... KDE packages seem
to have a history of overriding that error in Debian and Jonathan tells

Looked at this more today, My guess would be the 1 second
delta_notice_timeout in gs-watcher-x11.c . For some reason this causes
a function to loop until it locks the screen. I'm guessing that this
might be useful if the screensaver has detected it should be blanking
but is unable to.

There is a race between gnome-screensaver fading the screen and upower
suspending the computer.

Agreed, keyboard shortcuts are still broken for me after the update. I
have it set so that Ctrl-Left/Right/Up/Down switches workspaces. What

Yes, from the maching it occured.
I tried installing from ISOs from 4 different dates, going back to Dec, and
they all failed the same way.
Finally, I installed from alternate and it worked fine.

As you can see in the screenshot attached to this bug report, the icon of the
application is missing in the Dash and in the Launcher of Unity2D.
Strange thing is that in Unity (3D) the icon is present. It's only in Unity2D
that the Icon is not displayed.
