I wrote the bug initially due to the fact that license keys weren't
being writen to opt, I was testing in oneiric though and there it
doesn't. Then we thought that the keys weren't being used on precise

I'm very interested in learning how 'dodge' tested against 'autohide' in
the usability testing. Are the results available anywhere? I realise
doing a proper writeup takes time but the design research page is quite
empty[1].
For me atleast it was quite surprising to not have a unity bar visible

Jep that's true, AFAIK you need to delete the old entry from
/home/USER/.config/autostart/ and then copy /etc/xdg/autostart/alarm-
clock-applet.desktop to that place.
An alternative is to use the GUI for editing autostarts and just change
the command to --hidden.

Karl, if you read the first post again, you will come to know that this
issue is not 12.04 specific, it's been started since 11.10 :(
I don't think PCManFM has anything to do with this. It happened after I
just did a fresh new installation. YES, it was my first move to check
the menu to make sure
MSN and WLM contacts change their status (away, busy, ...) by cons when
they are disconnected they remain posted in the last known status which
gives the impression of always seeing them connect. To remove them you
have to disconnect and reconnect.
No problem with facebook and gmail contacts by
dino99, regarding your comments:
As its still a beta and is not related to resume from S3 , i will stay with
3001.
The website makes no mention of the BIOS being a beta. Hence, we would

Prior to the beta 2 update, I could suspend and resume with a very good
success rate. Ever since the beta 2 update, when resuming from a
standby state, I get a black screen. There is no mouse cursor, and
there is no blinking cursor.

Another thing I noticed is that if the hang has occured very recently,
it will take less time before reoccuring again... As if it was some kind
of a overheat-related issue... But the sensors do not indicate high
temperatures.

The wrong colors are what I meant in the last paragraph with libopenraw
not being entirely painless yet.
The reason for why it worked before could be changes in libtiff assuming the
library version changed between Ubuntu versions.
libtiff-3.9.5 apparently became a bit more strict regarding the

I'm running natty with a kernel from oneiric just to have things working
a bit better.
No, I'm not trying to report another issue. It's the same problem with
the graphics driver and/or Firefox. This time it just crashes X and the
kernel keeps running. The problem is not reproducible with
Outdated.
