It was definitely caused by the proxy. Windows had a static ip address.
When I changed it to DHCP and authenticated with the proxy the ubuntu
installation was successful.

This patch fixes the panic for me.
iwpriv wlan0 getpromisc and setpromisc don't work, and I don't know why,
but at least it doesn't panic any more.

same problem, you will see black screen if you dont launch from terminal
with the command LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-
gnu/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype
so still no fixed bug

having rt2800usb blacklisted to avoid conflict) to both LAN and
