Running 'sudo service networking stop' prior to shutting down decreases
the time needed by nearly 100%. Still, the message about / being busy
persists. I don't believe I have any problems with data corruption after
booting up again though. I haven't seen fsck come by.

It seems like webseeds (where a file gets downloaded using http from a
web server instead of using the bittorrent protocol) don't respect the
download speed-settings the user sets in Transmission.
I found this out when downloading the 720p version of the new Blender

Gnome settings daemon emits a simulateUserActivity signal when waking
from suspend. In the case of the old screensaver this ensured that the
login dialog is available without any further user interaction. However
this is not currently implemented in the new screenShield.

there should be a message box which warns that selecting more than one
package to open will slow down the system, and asks confirmation from
the user before executing their command.
