I did a fresh install of 12.04 a couple of moth ago. Everything worked
fine. I did the usual update via update-manager 2 days or so ago, were
xorg packages were updated. Now when I do _anything_ xorg consumes

Are you logged in as Guest? There are a lot of Permission denied
errors in the information sent by Apport, sometimes even when trying to
access information that's available even to limited users (but not
necessarily available to Guest). And the error from when Apport tried to
run fuser with pkexec
This 'path being fixed' issue is also present on Ubuntu 13.04 for lo 3.6
and 4.0. It is not there across the lo versions on win7 or Ubuntu
12.04. It looks like something happened in Ubuntu 12.10 and is carried
over to 13.04 to cause this to happen.

I see these same symptoms on my macbook air 5,2. I've tried two
different (24 and 23) Dell DVI monitors without success. For me, the
external monitor usually goes red when I plug it in the second time.
Sometimes this hangs the whole machine, sometimes not. In either case
the only way to get the
Argh. I was able to get ubiquity to work once, and then retried with
--debug, but couldn't get it to work again. So, no debug on that. Seems
like it might not fail every time.

Workaround:
I noticed my ~/.dropbox-dist/dropboxd file was 0 bytes in size as well as all
other files in that directory.
I removed the directory and ran dropbox start -i which triggered a re-install
and then it worked like normal.
I'm on a fresh 12.04. Dropbox used to work and just stopped and I
I sent a mail to the mailing list, but the automatic connection from the
mailing list to launchpad did not work.

Right, small update: Seems to only happen with the 11.2 version of the
Flash plugin. I don't have this problem on Google Chrome, with the
latest 11.5 version of Flash.
I also have this problem with different kinds of hardware. I wrote this
report on my laptop, which has a AMD Mobility Radeon HD
On some occasions, on initial startup, the mouse buttons do no respond
at all. Ctrl-alt-del to logout is necessary.

I've installed terminus-fonts and then set Terminus as a fonts to be
used in Kate. All these resulted in the same colour aberration as in
new Firefox 18. So this it is probably something with font rendering of
specific fonts, rather than Firefox problem.

Your solution has worked! I have the 3.6.0-030600 Kernel installed with
the the ACPI RTC DKMS package installed. No error messages when I resume
from suspend. :)

Month ago one of the ogmrip develpers has react to the upstream report
on sourceforge bugtracker.

Looking at the logs it seems this issue as well as bug 1101971 are
happening on hardware that does not have GLSL support. In both these
cases the bug was reported using netbooks.

Been trying to install Ubuntu 12.04.1 on an oldish PC with 1GB of RAM,
AMD Athlon 2GHz and Nvidia FX5200. The installer window quits after
following through all the steps, before going to the slideshow.
Syslog has the following:

Looking at the GPU models it seem this issue is specific to NonGLSL
hardware. I currently don't have access to my netbook but that's going
to take a few weeks for me to test.
