I'm pretty sure this is a issue in Gtk+3.0 due to a fix put in affecting
mouse wheel scrolling. I have a potential fix in my PPA at ppa:townsend
/gtk-testing. Could someone affected by this bug please try my PPA and

Also noticed if I log in via terminal as a domain user, stop lighdm, run
startx, desktop comes up (but no indicator panel on bar.)
I should have also noted in the previous post I was on 13.04 and it
worked fine, and didn't have any problems until upgrading to 13.10.

The same happend to me when upgrading my Kubuntu 13.04 to the released
13.10, which is running in a kvm x86_64 virtual machine.
After I entering my password, an empty splash screen remains.
all logs in /var/log/lightdm are empty (exept for the *.old ones) as
well as Xorg.0.log.

to fix the Eclipse (Kepler) configuration and see if it foxes your

Happens to me too. Since upgrading to Saucy all my custom shortcuts have
been thrown into the Other folder and previously made folders have
disappeared!
