Official emu20k2 cards use CS4382 on all channels, so that's the only DAC the
driver has code for.

In some older discussion on other fora I found that HDMI output sometimes
causes this problem.
Test: setting my analog output to HDMI also broke my normal sound. So
apparently the browser uses HDMI by default...
MY FIX was to go open
After upgrading 13.04 to 13.10 this problem affects me too.
I use French keyboard layouts, but Unity always in English keyboards layouts,
even if i have removed it in system config.
French keyboard is selected but i have to select it again and it works.

I did upgrade 13.04 - 13.10 and have the same problem. I can't mount usb,
install package via software center. Sound doesn't works too (not sure if
it's related).
Hope they will fix this soon.

Since in Home results coming from a scope are merged and collapse into
single category, suggested apps would be mixed together with recently
used applications if both where displayed. So it's a better option to
display suggested apps only in the Software Center.

kernel 3.12.0-999-generic #201310090426, I never gor around to trying
the rc5 kernel as you suggested - this is my company fileserver so I
cannot just do immediate changes (unless of course it has just crashed
and I am recovering).

I very recently upgraded to 13.10 from 13.04. All fine.
Now the menu that is in the extreme top tight corner - containing
shutdown, system updates is simple not present. I have yet to reboot to
see if it comes back.

why). However, when using x2go users have been logging in remotely by
creating a 'custom' session type which calls /usr/bin/startlubuntu

Jarno, when not logged into a session pressing ctrl-alt-f7 goes to a
blank, black screen with a cursor in the upper left corner. Pressing

When I try to disable individual scopes, there are no visual hints that it is
done. I think it's supposed to be greyed out, but it does not.
However, some of the scopes I disabled earlier (a few reboots before) are now
greyed out.
