Only Windows 8 is for some strange reason not affected.
I do have the same problem with Arch Linux and Windows 7.

the Bug seems to persist on saucy (13.10) but i don't have a blinking
numlock.
furthermore, it seems like the goa-daemon comsumes 90-100% on a cpu for
every user that is logged in, therefore locking a cpu per user that is
logged in.

I have lenovo l700 with Ubuntu 12.04 and I temporarily fixed this
problem. Gimp crashes everytime when my 'touchpad-indicator' app is
working. It works just fine if I turn the app off and optionally disable
touchpad using cmd 'synclient TouchpadOff=1'.

Sorry, I did get a little confused over the sectors thing. The 63rd LBA sector
is the starting point for the 0MB boundary of partitions usually. I wasn't
thinking straight. I'm used to using the MB settings for partitioning instead.
