The lsusb listing shows that your dongle is supported by the option
driver in kernel 3.13 which Ubuntu 14.04 is built on.
The problem is most likely a usb controller driver error, can you please
test on a USB 2.0 port or with a USB 2.0 hub connected between dongle
and your computers USB 3.0 port.

As we've switched from libgnutls-dev to libgnutls28-dev, it seems we now
need to add libgcrypt20-dev to our build-deps explicitly since no
version of libgcrypt is pulled in by libgnutls28-dev anymore. Result is
a lynx that's doesn't understand https as ./configure can't find
I am seeing a simular issue on 3.13.0-30 on the host.
It hasn't got as far as a cpu soft lockup but I do get network issues.

As a workaround, installing ttf-dejavu-core will place the fonts in the

In Gufw 14.10 (for Ubuntu 14.10) hasn't this particular patch, because
is a different release :) But of course this bug will be fixed in the
release of Gufw 14.10 (I'll send the release to the MOTU this
September).
Then, I just need this patch for Gufw 14.04.2 in Ubuntu 14.04.

one command to uninstall enough of cinnamon to enable the 14.04 upgrade
to proceed:
sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove cinnamon

I've seen this bug a lot in the past month with a fully updated 12.04.4,
although I mostly saw it triggered by another application in the
LibreOffice suite (calc). It got progressively worse and was really bad
yesterday, causing several crashes within an hour. Some workarounds I
tried:

Bios 2.07. A workaround for me is disabling usb 3.0 in the bios - after
that suspend and resume work fine. Should I still open a new bug report

I was having this same problem on Ubuntu 14.04 and after a couple of
days of trying to fix it, I found a file inside /etc/pm/sleep.d/ which
is called 99dw1704. This file handles disabling and enabling the wl
module on hibernate and suspend. All I had to do to fix it is to run:
sudo chmod -x
