I have been trying constantly and failing each time when I try to upgrade fro
Ubuntu 12.04.05 LTS to 14.04.1 LTS.
I disabled all external repositories in sources.list and deleted sources.list.d
folder so I don't see any error in the upgrade manager but the upgrade doesn't

from 13.10 failed the first time, the message I got on attempted boot
was, error: symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found. That

I've reuploaded added a debconf setting to tell the user that it has
been removed on install
I don't think it's practical to update these packages, I've tried and
you just get lost in a maze of twisty dependencies all alike because
owncloud likes to ship many dependencies as part of the package.
I couldn't find python-indicator in the repos, but python-appindicator
did solve the issue. I guess it was renamed at some point, or it is a
typo. Anyway, I can confirm that the package (python-appindicator)
solves this, so an explicit dependency on it should fix the bug.

Hi Walter,
Reproduced this bug on another Dell Optiplex GX50 (hostname: austen).
I suspect the best workaround would be to install lubuntu 14.04LTS. Will
verify that sometime this week.
