Kubuntu 14.10, I've installed nvidia-prime and nvidia-331. After the
obligatory restart, the Nvidia chip was active. Trying to switch to the
Intel profile looks like this:
There was no unity8 crash or any other crash files in /var/crash. I
didn't see the app reset with the spinner after the phone call ended.

An easy way to reproduce this (works for me at least):
Install stallboard app from the store, run it, play a couple of sounds
and then close it (swipe up/down in the window list) = media-hub-server
starts spinning. This doesn't involve a unity8 crash, so not 100% sure
it's the same problem
we should just remove shorts for rtm as it is the main issue here.

I actually managed to restart the network with
sudo rmmod rt73usb
sudo modprobe rt73usb
(as the rt2x00usb is used by this module)
dmesg2 shows the occurence of the bug, and the system messages after the
mod was removed and added again.

There are still some cases after toggling flight mode where the state
remains Online. Can anyone else reproduce this?
The major issue here is that the driver is sending back bad states to
NetworkManager because it's being toggled via libhybris -- it's then up
to whatever in which order things are
