I think there are other means to communicate the supportedness of
packages, like the Supported field in the control file.
We do have reports of the same effect, that installing syslog-ng is a hassle,
just because of the this dependency, like:

user swaps out their default router, no IPv6 traffic will pass because

older version of Compiz on your computer. I recommend you update your
14.04 LTS to pick up all the bug fixes that have been released.
Using the Dash you can start the Software Updater application. Click on
Settings... Updates
I just performed an apt-get upgrade and rebooted my system and now mate-
power-manager crashed on me

I couldn't get this to work no matter what I tried.
As a workaround, I ran the windows exe through wine and it worked with
no problem - hopefully that helps others as well.

Catching occasional segfault on acpitables test, I think it's when an
APIC table size is faulty and causes fwts to fall off the end of the
table.
Caught SIGNAL 11 (Segmentation fault), aborting.

@Ievgen: No BIOS problems, no driver problems, I simply swapped the
hardware. Bluetooth and WiFi work out of the box.
May be specific to my model (HP Probook 430 G1), as the very similar
Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260AN is listed as a spare part in the
maintenance guide.
