I couldn't install 1.1.4 onto 14.04 using the Wily package so I compiled
the 1.1.14+dfsg package from source. It continued to issue the
"connection closed unexpectedly" warning. I solved the problem for the
time being by setting the log_level to "warn" for "general" and "error"

I reinstalled my laptop with wily (15.10) while hoping kernel 4.2.0.7
could fix the problem. I got a step forward. The drm related error is
gone, but a seg fault rises up in Xorg.log and I ended up in a black

Ah sorry for the misunderstanding. The fix for the mswindows attribute ended
up being in cmd2
Also confirmed after upgrade from functional 12.04 system to 14.04 (both
64 bit). --System flag makes it work
