I'm the upstream maintainer of GLEW, my comment is that although a lot
of packages depend on GLEW, the vast majority of changes are fully
backwards compatible. 1.11.0 is itself nearly one year old and is two
versions behind. Fortunately for me I'm not having too much traffic

I'm seeing very similar symptoms on my Celeron N2940 sysstem. I'm using
Arch distro with kernel 4.2.3-1. The system freezes from time to time
when playing videos, especialy when using HW acceleration. It usually
happens when playing videos from mpv with VAAPI HW decoding enabled or

4.1 and 4.2. On my Shuttle XS36V4 (Celeron J1900), running arch
completely up-to-date, I can hardly watch 15 minutes of video before it
all locks up. After reverting the kernel back to 4.1.6-1, the system is

My Asrock Q1900DC was originally bought to be a headless router/pvr/nas
which it now is - so no more testing of this lock from me for a long
time (or so I thought).
When putting it to its new duties I put a vanilla 4.1.1 on it (didn't
patch as being headless I don't get any i915 interrupts). All
I confirm that this issue has been experienced on Dell XPS 13 (9343),
Ubuntu 15.04, not working with kernels `3.19.0-30-generic` and
`3.19.0-31-generic`, but working with kernel `3.19.0-28-generic`, and
