Of the individual dependencies of sysinit.target.wants, I'm guessing it

I suspect because in bionic/artful we're missing resolvconf package, that the
systemd-resolved service ends up starting later in boot. The
systemd-resolved-update-resolveconf.{service,path} require /sbin/resolvconf to

So I managed to reproduce this in a way that looks correct (Starbucks
WiFi here uses Datavalet but fails in a way that looks the same: it
thinks you're logged in once you clicked the "Login" button on the
captive portal page once, but then updates DNS, but still attempts to
look up
No screenshots go to my clipboard either. Saving to files is just fine

When I try to reboot or shutdown I see messages like:

I duped it to 1731796. Regarding your system, once you rebooted, you
should try this to bring it back to working order:
sudo apt update
sudo apt -f install
At least until the next freeze :(
