happens when a font package is installed that fixes most of Gnome Shell. The
tooltips are still distorted, though.

The same bug happens here( Ubuntu 11.10 and ATI 4770 with fglrx).
It seems the window borders are not updated.
Example:
- Open gedit
- Notice its window title is Untitled Document 1 - gedit
- Type anything and same the document as something.txt

Empathy worked with GTalk two days ago, but today GTalk seems to be connected
but everybody is shown offline. I know they are online because of the client in

There is nothing wrong with my LG DVD/RW. I've just tested with a
Samsung DVD/RW. Same problem.
After that, I searched for nVidia MCP61 IDE and found someone with
similar problem. I seems that this motherboard doesn't work well with
older IDE DVD drives. Maybe I'll buy a new SATA Bluray.

There are some forums suggesting that this problem is related to a bug in
firmware. So I updated it from 1.02 to 1.06. Palimpsest confirms the update.
Now I can watch Alias season One, but still can't watch Lord of the Rings. I
have no idea why. They both are region 4 (Brazil) and double layer.

I have 3 machines: a notebook, a desktop at home and another desktop at work.
All running Ubuntu 10.04.
The notebook and work's desktop had Facebook working OK on gwibber, but I
couldn't add it in my home's desktop because of the missing Add button.

* create the script /usr/local/bin/pakiller that kills pulseaudio and restarts
it afterwards
* create the file ~/.pulse/client.conf to prevent pulseaudio from automatically

You can turn it off unchecking menu/Options/Limit Frame Rate.
The same can be done in gconf-editor turning off /apps/celestia/videoSync.

I've just tested the code attached here with this option Dave told us.
It works. Nothing freezes but the application itself.
Thus, it's definitely not a bug in Xorg or any driver. The problem is in Java
implementation for Linux.

I could only reproduce with JComboBox. I found it because I was debugging an
action in a combo box in my project.
It does not depend on Thread.sleep at all. Xorg remains frozen not matter what
we put inside the action: a sleep, a long CPU intensive computation, I/O or a

I have just executed the XLock class replacing the breakpoint with a
Thread.sleep(5000). I ran it in a terminal with $ java xlock.XLock. For five
seconds, all clicks on the screen or strokes on the keyboard are ignored.

I closed the Navigation panel clicking on the X button. It is not possible to
reopen it. There is no GUI to do it.
I had to delete the file $HOME/.kde/share/config/komparerc to reset Kompare to
its default configuration.
I am using Ubuntu 9.04.
The same freeze happens in Edgy 32, but renaming sis_agp.ko fixes it.
Also, in Edgy 64, AGP works fine.

I've tested on an Edgy 64. The same happens here.
Though, turning off accessibility solves this problem. If you don't need
it, just turn it off on System / Preferences / Assistive Technology
Preferences.

I've just upgraded the system to kernel 2.6.15-25-k7, including
restricted modules. The upgrade-manager asked me to reboot my system, as
expected. For my surprise, the system crashed as soon the X started.
I had to rename sis-agp.ko as I told you before to get a chance to
complain about this bug
