From the trace i noticed that the number of KVM_KXIT_MMIO calls has increased
alot and is causing delay in testcase execution.

One observation i made was that adding qemu arguments "-nic none"
improved the testcase performance.
Does "-nic none" reduce KVM_EXIT_MMIO ?
Are there any other qemu arguments that can be used to improve qemu
overall performance ?

ya can confirm by upgrading my nm to latest available patch:-)
and to degrade i am using opensuse 11.2(2.6.31...) kernel ,gnome, modem
0.7.1 and it connects easily.
dont know how to degrade in karmic kuala .if only u can help .
need too many files to compile and
most of the huwaei modems are fixed but i think rest are largely due to a bug
in network manager.
any help please let me know.

Any of you who has ec168c I can confirm it is a network manager bug not
a kernel bug.
with opensuse 11.2 which uses kernel 2.6.31 and NM 0.7.1 . its connets.
if some of you can degrade the network manager then try this solution.
unfortunately i dont know how to degrade the network manager.

the same here for my cdma modem ( huawei ec168c). after upgrade it stops
working. i am sure its a network manger problem .
worked like a charm with network nm0.7.1 with 0.8 it stopped working .

The problem is not related to karnel i suppose as to network manager.
With network manager 0.7.1 it works . with 0.8 series it started braking.

Its still not working .:-(
But surprisingly works with Gnome-ppp.:-)

It was working with 9.04.

This will be a problem with all reliance network connection here in india.
A friend of mine also reports the same.

This is kernel based problem i guess or something. A change in kernel in
9.10 got mine fixed so i assume it to be kernel related.
But the latest kernel to be defaulted in lucid has this problem again .
:-( Kernel 2.6.32.

I can confirm it. In lenevo laptop it causes problem, its a ubuntu

9.04 stuck if power cord was not attached(most time) in Dell Vostro1510(india).

Kernel has been upgraded to 2.6.32 latest RC7 version
And network has been updated to latest trunk build too.
No it doesnt get stuck at starting but the connecting animation proceeds but
does not connect.
Improvement:-).
