The bug is that you use an unsupported locale ('C' and '*POSIX*' locales are
unsupported in language-selector, since there are no translations available for
those locales. Strings in applications can be in *any* language which uses the
ASCII charset, it's not
I have committed some code changes in version 0.5.1 of language-selector
which might fix this issue already.
Could you please help testing if this issue has been fixed with the
latest version of language-selector for Lucid?

Are you talking about the language code 'sco'?
If so, there is no locale available, so we cannot generate language-packs for
that language and you cannot use the translations.

When ~/.dmrc contains an entry in a non-supported format (in my case, I was
testing what happens when 'Language' is set to en_US:en, instead of
en_US.UTF-8), gdm doesn't let the user log into his account anymore.
Here is what happens:
