This has been done intentionally and hopefully Gnome 3 will follow this
convention. It is quite useless to have 2 close buttons in a window, one
is enough. And that one is in the upper right corner of the window
frame. If you look around in Ubuntu, you will notice that more and more
applications
I have added a fix to version 0.4.7. Could you please test if the problem still
appears in the latest version?

What I meant is, if the hunspell-de-med package is installed, how can I
test if it breaks the spellchecking in oo.o? Do you have a sample text
where I could see different results depending on if that package is
installed or not?

Regional Language crashes when locale is set to C during install

OK, so, with the above suggested solution of moving 69-language-
selector-LANGCODE.conf down to 48, does this fix the problem in Karmic?
If yes, then I will do the change in language-selector.
For non-CJK users this shouldn't cause any issues, since these files are
only activated, when the users
