When I install pyopencl, the KDE desktop effects stop working. The
problem is that pyopencl depends on nvidia-current and nvidia-settings
and these get installed when I do not have an nVidia GPU. Also, since
the correct ICD(AMD/Intel for CPUs and not nVidia) is not installed,
pyopencl wouldn't
Please do reconsider backporting this for stable releases because the
current setup is completely broken and it's probably not a good idea to
leave it thus since it takes quite a while to figure out what is going
wrong.
If it's likely it'll not be backported, please do consider informing
users
Could this be backported to 12.04 since the release will be supported
for at least 4 more years?

Is this in package upower or is it libimobiledevice seeing that the

Well I think it's best to have a notification every time when the
password is asked by sudo saying that no feedback will be given. I know
I did say it'd be best to have stars but I actually like it when no
feedback is given by terminal. I've created a patch for this. It prints
the notification
Here's a screenshot of the patch working in lucid alpha 1. Don't know
why I couldn't attach it with the patch in the earlier comment.
Also, can someone tell me why it displays Password: instead of the
usual [sudo] Password for user: . I tried to figure this out but no

Well then what could be a possible solution? Not many Ubuntu users will
appreciate the fact that terminal will give a feedback such as stars (as
many stated here) and not many new users will remember unless reminded
about this just like what Blattlaus said in comment #16. Perhaps a timed
reminder
I think mouse and touchpad is the best choice since anyway I don't
think any other device such a bluetooth remote and stuff can be
configured using this entry right?

problem belongs to.
The problem I'm having is that of overlapping desktop icons. Suppose I
mount a partition(say 32GB filesystem of the screenshot) of my hard
disk(by clicking on Places - partition_name),
Also I just discovered, suppose one of the overlapped icons is selected, then
it's not possible to navigate to and highlight any other icon on the desktop
using the arrow keys up, down, left and right: the selection highligh keeps
looping among the overlapped icons.

and not that expericed with linux. I tried it in a machine whose
parameters more or less matched. It didn't affect there. It's also fine
in Karmic.
