Ive got the same flickering issue in both windows and ubuntu. Disabling the
Intel UHD grapics in windows slows down the flickering from insane to a lot.

I'm able to triage this bug, and it seems like the culprit is `conf_*`
functions present in conffile.c (nfs-utils), which are also present in
cfg.c (libnfsidmap2), and due to runtime linking, `conf_*` present in
`rpc.idmapd` executable (nfs-utils) takes precedence over the `conf_*`
functions

I tried installing ubuntu quantal on my acer 5002 laptop with sis card.
But on boot from usb screen keeps flickering with only mouse pointer
shows up on whole screen.
I tried xubuntu as well and result is same.

addresses in network connections, by setting Automatic (PPP)
addresses only and entering addresses in DNS servers: input field.
But after connecting resolv.conf has addresses set by the network

Which one to test?
I tested it with http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/daily/current/. Installed it and used cpuburn to heat up it
reached 106C and powered off.
