Never mind the volume issue. I had thought that there were supposed to
be only ten volume steps, but I was wrong. Everything seems to work well
volume wise.
However, the issue is mainly with no OSD for brightness. The brightness

Can say that it is -- but then again, recently I've finally gotten all
of my systems to suspend-to-RAM correctly, so I don't have much chance
to see this happening. I'd say, consider it fixed until somebody else

Hey all, I just bumped into this problem too, with Ubuntu 9.04 unr installed
fresh from a usb stick, used sda1 as / (ext2), and a sd card for /home (ext4).
After my battery was empty my SD disk crashed upon resume.
obviously the problem is a lost partition table:
output of 'sudo fdisk -l'
I'm using the default Jaunty kernel ( 2.6.28 ), so i'm pretty sure KMS
is off here..

Also, if indexing kept to 2 levels or less then no problem. It seems to
be related to the size of the index. Perhaps this is not an issue on my
thinkpad due to processor speed and the rate at which it is able to re-

I may have been to eger to report this bug since it doesn't affect me
anymore, maybe because I also insalled the karmic versions of acpid,

I installed libxklavier12 from Sergey V. Udaltsov's PPA and it works perfect,
now I can use that other OS's key to make lancelot come up.

I will try the karmic version some time soon, to see if it solves this bug also.

libxklavier is built without XInput support
Just tested the karmic version of libxklavier12 and it seems to icorporate the
fix, so the PPA is only needed for those not willing to cherypick from the
kamic development release.
also this would mean a fix has been approved by the ubuntu developers so it
would probably not be a problem for

I agree its not realy a solution, I was just browsing some new
bugreports and yours came by I thought maybe it is okay now, just ask
and lift some weight of the shoulders of the developers.
It could be going wrong in a lot of places, even a little error in the theme
could be the problem, or as
The new karmic release will feature this better resolution, at least my partial
karmic install based on jaunty but with some karmic packages started doing this
without me fiddling with the grub files.
Now I'm not sure which package changed this but my first thought goes to the
kernel.

I had this same trouble with using a high quality/heavy resampling codec
on a speed switching cpu. this messes up pulseaudio, made me drop it
alltogether.
try using a relaxer codec like speaks with a lower quality setting.
this did the trick for me.

Now I know this is a known problem, it happens both in gnome and in kde desktop
