So I installed the latest update for the Nvidia drivers (version
375.66-0ubuntu0.17.04.1 to be precise) and when I rebooted, the boot
process was stuck with the following message:
"Started GNOME display manager.ss..p link was shut down"
I am not sure what happened,
I just found a solution. I was running Ubuntu on my Nvidia Graphics
card. I tried switching back to the Build-in Intel Graphics with the
Nvidia Control Center and ran dpkg --configure -a
This time things did work. The kernel configuration didn't hang anymore
and everything is working fine again.
This issue also prevents me from using apt-get install -f because it
wants me to run dpkg --configure -a first... but when I do that, the
original issue described above will occur..

Hello, thanks for the response. The system does boot and actually boots
from the older kernel by default. It's just that I am unable to use apt
or dpkg because it will hang when configuring the new kernel. It's an
incomplete installation at this point.

Also still having this issue when trying to install the latest Nvidia

I was able to uninstall the driver by first stopping lightdm with "sudo
systemctl stop lightdm". After reverting back to Nouveau I was able to
log in, but Unity didn't start. (no window borders or launcher, etc.) I
fixed this by doing the following:
sudo dconf reset -f /org/compiz/
sudo setsid
Can someone please tell how to fix this? I can't login to my system now
and I need to get work done.

It seems like the overlay scrollbar is a bit buggy in Saucy. The
scrollbar will always span the entire bar. It doesn't matter how big

works fine with the global menu bar integration add on disabled, but
when you enable it, it will crash firefox. You then need to restart
firefox in safe mode and disable all add ons to make it work again.

I have exactly the same problem. Gwibber (not sure about the rest of the
desktop though..) get's very slow when trying to type a tweet. Also
scrolling and such isn't really fast, but it's not as worse as the
typing.

I am not sure how other Twitter clients like TweetDeck handle this, but
it keeps track of the followers.. what you could also do is check for
the followers once when the client is started, and let it refresh when
changes occur, like when you follow a new person.
