[Bug 1376903] Re: Caps lock delay

2021-03-30 Thread Benjamin Guy-Williams
I just saw this issue posted on Reddit. I simply had to answer the OP's question - this is Linux, if it doesn't bother the maintainers then they don't bother fixing it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu.

[Bug 1614466] Re: Unable to convert any music using soundconverter

2016-12-02 Thread Benjamin Guy-Williams
"faac" gstreamer element not found, disabling AAC output. It seems there's more to it - even with codecs (Gst bad) installed it seems Soundconverter isn't seeing it. Fixes attempted include purging and reinstalling them in different orders. It looks like an old/recurring theme. The most common

[Bug 699906] Re: alsa plugin for audacious fails when using usb audio adapter

2016-02-20 Thread Benjamin Guy-Williams
I just discovered that using the plugin (Effects-Channel Mixer) will provide 2 channel output that works with Audacious set to ALSA. It also doesn't disrupt DTS passthrough for other music, so for now I just left it ticked and everything is hunky-dory. -- You received this bug notification

[Bug 86184] Re: Can't change cursor style using Compiz.

2011-05-27 Thread Benjamin Guy-Williams
This bug is not fixed in my 11.04. After selecting a new cursor, I still see my Obsidian cursor - however if I take a screenshot it captures the newly selected cursor! Switching to Metacity shows the new cursor, but returning to Compiz shows the old one again. The only way to do this with compiz

[Bug 86184] Re: Can't change cursor style using Compiz.

2011-05-16 Thread Benjamin Guy-Williams
I installed 'Obsidian cursor' - a very nice shiny black cursor (a little large for some tastes), and then manually edited my config files in ~/.icons and /usr/share folders in order to get it working - it works perfectly across compiz and metacity... it appears the problem is that selecting a

[Bug 86184] Re: Can't change cursor style using Compiz.

2011-04-30 Thread Benjamin Guy-Williams
I just updated to Natty. In my theme customisation menu, I can see cursors as I saw in previous versions of ubuntu - only now I cannot change from the default cursor at all, even if I switch to metacity and back to compiz (cursor is changed only in metacity, but returns to the default in

Ok - sorry - I found it. Logging into Gwibber revealed nothing, I should reboot and make a fresh file here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/732332 Title: old messages show on login

[Bug 732332] Re: old messages show on login

2011-03-12 Thread Benjamin Guy-Williams
After deleting the log (2.4MB) and rebooting - logged out and in - there was no repetition. Maybe it's cleared! I'll come back tomorrow if it's here again - the log is clean. Most of the 2.4MB was made up from complaints about Flickr - I deleted that account... Now all I see is: 2011-03-12

[Bug 294972] Re: MASTER: xorg high cpu usage, general system sluggishness

2011-01-31 Thread Benjamin Guy-Williams
Interestingly now I have no need to log in and reset Xorg to prevent high cpu. Now when I put in a username at the login prompt, the screen goes black and re-presents the username request, the second time around I enter password and get a desktop with Xorg running at around 1.5 cpu which suits me
