Think or Swim desktop application is sensitive to the Java version being
used. I tried installing a newer version of Java and the app provided an
error message essentially saying, Think or Swim is not designed to work
with this version of Java. If things go bad, you're on your own. The

I just reinstalled Ubuntu 9.10 from scratch. System Administration
Hardware drivers wouldn't allow me to activate the proprietary Nvidia
drivers on my in-place upgrade from Ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10. I have a

Added one line to xorg.conf to make suspend and hibernate work.
Found solution on the net but I don't remember where.

Hibernate seems to work. Suspend still locks machine as described above.

I think I've found my solution. Somewhere on the Internet someone
suggested adding an NvAGP line to xorg.conf. I tried this and it seems
to work for me on both Hibernate and Suspend. No twitchyness thus far,
but I have yet to comb the log files for gotchas.
I reinstalled the non-free Nvidia
Update: reinstalled 9.04 because I have numerous issues. Thought
starting fresh might help. The problem I have with this fourth
reinstallation is resuming from suspend completely locks up the system
and gives me a black screen. I have to restart the laptop. There is
nothing in /var/crash.
I've upgraded to Jaunty from beta. Hibernate worked with the exception
that the stick mouse stopped working when I resumed. Touch pad works
fine. Suspend did what it usually does: locks the machine on resume.
Would running apport after unsuccessful suspend/successful reboot help?

Apport says this is the wrong yelp version. The real problem is I try to
resume from hibernate and the system black screens of death. I've never
had success hibernating/suspending dell laptops.
This laptop has a fresh install of 9.04 beta and I'm not using the
closed Nvidia
