[Bug 797802] Re: Think Or Swim crashes after 10-15 minutes

2012-01-16 Thread Bob E
Think or Swim desktop application is sensitive to the Java version being used. I tried installing a newer version of Java and the app provided an error message essentially saying, Think or Swim is not designed to work with this version of Java. If things go bad, you're on your own. The new Java

I just reinstalled Ubuntu 9.10 from scratch. System Administration Hardware drivers wouldn't allow me to activate the proprietary Nvidia drivers on my in-place upgrade from Ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10. I have a Latitude D800 and am running 2.6.31-14-generic. I'm now running Nvidia 173.14.20 proprietary

2009-05-25 Thread bob e
I think I've found my solution. Somewhere on the Internet someone suggested adding an NvAGP line to xorg.conf. I tried this and it seems to work for me on both Hibernate and Suspend. No twitchyness thus far, but I have yet to comb the log files for gotchas. I reinstalled the non-free Nvidia

Update: reinstalled 9.04 because I have numerous issues. Thought starting fresh might help. The problem I have with this fourth reinstallation is resuming from suspend completely locks up the system and gives me a black screen. I have to restart the laptop. There is nothing in /var/crash.

I've upgraded to Jaunty from beta. Hibernate worked with the exception that the stick mouse stopped working when I resumed. Touch pad works fine. Suspend did what it usually does: locks the machine on resume. Would running apport after unsuccessful suspend/successful reboot help? -- desktop
