On a personal note, I'm unable to be productive at work because I can no
longer find a kernel that will boot with networking in a non-line
environment. Never had this happen with the Debian installation I have
on System76 (but not-Serval) hardware I have at home.
5.11.0-7620-generic never
5.11.0-7614-generic was updated last week, and no longer boots.
5.13.0-7614-generic had never booted.
5.8.0-43-generic boots, but comes up without audio devices or network
devices (neither wired nor wireless). This is particularly weird since
the Ubuntu Live environment I'm writing this update

couldn't figure out how to do that. Says I can only assign to myself
when I try. :(

Removing the -dbg packages got me past that error, and it is currently
doing all the upgrades. Thanks so much! Is there something special about
-dbg packages that gets in the way of upgrading, or does it just happen
that dist-upgrade was not smart enough to figure it out?

Thanks! Just tried removing them with apt purge. Some could not be
found. do-release upgrade is still giving (to me) similar output as
before.

I am still having problems. Running nvidia-prime 0.8.8.
I upgraded from 17.10 and have four monitors connected to a Dell
Precision 7510 with a Quadro M1000M.
In xorg, I get one of the four monitors. In wayland I get the other 3!

I did was make a couple of partitions and yes the drive probably needs to

In previous versions of Transmission, when using the web interface, on
the form where a new torrent file is uploaded, pressing the Enter key on
my keyboard would perform the same action as the Upload button on the
form. I can't be certain which version that feature appeared

I also ran into this behavior while doing an optimus install on a Sony
Vaio S with Xubuntu 14.04 (Trusty). Following this guide:

During the install, nvidia-331 wishes to remove wine1.6-amd64 and

fprint was working fine for me with 13.10 but after upgrading to 14.04,

Issue was resolved by creating a ~/.xmonad directory and filling it with
an xmonad.hs file.
I started with the default xmonad.hs:

To remove the error message I edited the /etc/default/grub
sudo gedit
Confirming Alex's workaround works on 12.04, HP Pavilion dv6 with Intel
Centrino 1000n wireless.
