Sorry Joseph, by the time I got the reply (which I didn’t know how
accessible you guys are), I’d deleted the pvm file (Parallels Virtual

Dropped back to 16.04 which is running flawlessly.
I appreciate your work . . . thank you.

Thanks,

If it was a bot, do you recommend I delete this distro and re-download

Thanks

ProblemType: Package
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 17.04
Package: linux-image-4.10.0-21-generic (not installed)
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.10.0-20.22-generic 4.10.8

linux-image-3.13.0-8-generic_3.13.0-8.27_amd64.deb seems to be fine. As

(the console crashes on this kernel not long after starting X, going to
assume this is due to having rather old user space on this box at the
moment).
The following kernel appears to be fine:

@Barry and @Steve, in my case when I see this error, the most probably
cause is that update-manager has misidentified my repositories in
sources.list as third party repositories and disabled all of them.
Without telling me. As such it can't find the essential packages -
because they don't exist!
Chris Puttick, the message generated is rather generic, and can have a
number of completely different causes. So I suspect it may not have
anything to do with overloaded mirrors.
Unfortunately, my bug report, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/update-manager/+bug/773823, was marked as a

Like I said in comment #19, this is a generic error, and may have a

In my case it was not overloaded servers that caused the problem. The
problem was that the upgrade process commented out all my sources.list

ubuntu-bugs
require changing the pam_ldap entry. Doing that the
pam-auth-update way seems to imply modifying /usr/share/pam-configs/ldap
which is not a conffile.
Improved documentation on the best way to use this with intrepid would
be good.

To my reading of the source code, it looks like when sending data over
the network flightsim converts the values to network byte ordering
(good). The code for doing the reverse has been commented out for some
reason (bad). Hence I don't think it could work except where host
ordering == network
look like
it :-(.

I just got a Dell Optiplex 755 with a twinhead X1300 card running Ubuntu Hardy
with the latest fglrx drivers from ATIs website, and have encountered what
looks like the same problem.
Apparently these bugs are the same:
