Wayland is not suppoeted by Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. Probably neither in eny
Debian based Linux.

I am not sure its the same bug, but using Ubuntu 8.10 suddenly synaptic
stopped working. If you click on the icon it requires sudoers password,
and then nothing happens. If you try to run it from terminal it starts
if you run it without administrative privileges. but sudo synaptic pails
with this
Yes, somebody must do something. It is a horrible mess that made my waste 3
or 4 days to find a way.

Even my previous tips produced a buggy result I finally got UM 18.04
working as follows.
1-Clean install 17.10 with a wipe everything option (Phony enough this
did erase my previous / and /home ext4 partitions). Let it install the /
partition in 14 GB /dev/nvme0n1p1 ext4. Let the installation
I finally managed to install Ubuntu MATE 18.04 on my Lenovo All In One
520-277KL. But it was very bumpy (I am using Ubuntu since 2006), here is
my full story.
1-UM 17.10 installed after disabling UEFI in the bios and asked to wipe
out the disk and install letting UM 17.10 do its default

bit machines do not crash LO in my Asus Eee Atom
+ netbook The xls files either are imported OK (with some files) or crash
+ LO in the 3 machines. The crashes ocurr with Ubuntu 12.04 beta, Linux
+ Mint 11 and Linux Mint 12.

Ghemical Doesn't run under Ubuntu 11.10 (undefined symbol:
This is a bug in libsc-dev, its sc-config tool does not list the SC
libraries in the sc-config --libs output, which libghemical uses for
linking
My attempts to compile ghemical 3 under Mint 12 fail when including mpqc
in the libgemical library, I have not been able to satisfy the sc
dependency,
I tried to compile Ghemical 3.0 from the tar files in the Ghemical
sites, with cfortran installed (sudo apt-get install cfortran) I
succeeded in building all the modules except ghemical 3 it self which
fails due to some gtk dependencies that are missing. Thus far I have
been unable to figure out
I tried installing libghemical v 3 from the ghemical site in /usr/lib
and changing the libghemical.so.5 link to point to it and the errors
stays the same.

I am not sure, but my guess is AMD64 Ubuntu's OO is compiled from
source, and something is done differently than in OOo site. Different
compiler? Different compiler version? It's hard to say, I don't know the
innards of the process.
