if you press alt+tab and then let go within a second everything goes
fine, but if you keep them pressed for more than a couple secs until the
screen has finished darkening, THEN it happens.

Yes, for a split second the apps stay there, without the decorations.
The same happens when the system starts: the dialogue Network Manager

Don't forget the bar colours; more and more gnome apps are using the
Tango palette, and Transmission bars look -to my eye- awfully out of
place in a gnome desktop.

I have noticed that Transmission places ratio / upload / download
information in its own status bar rather than Gnome's status bar. Yet,
both bars are shown. Aren't we wasting space?

It would be quite handy to have a notification bubble appear when a
torrent has finished downloading, maybe with an open button to open it
with nautilus (if it's a folder) or a suitable app (if it's a file).

I just tried to remove a torrent from Transmission using the delete key,
and was shocked to see that it had no effect at all. Could it be

It would be super useful to have Transmission ask you, when you remove a
torrent, if you want to delete the partially downloaded file too. That
would save the user from having to track it down in the file browser.
