no, i'm not using any unity ppa. i noticed that this happens also with
kde and the problem seems to be the use of 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade'

after today's updates on quantal, unity (and everyting related to it)
and ubuntu-desktop have been removed. i tried to reinstall them, but i
get error messages saying that ubuntu-desktop needs unity as a
dependency and that unity needs compiz-core-abiversion-20120920 as a
