tips in this bug report and they're working fine for me with GL and compiz
(apart the well known rendering bug for KDE3 apps). Not yet tested on KDE4.

Yesterday I upgraded to Intrepid and it doesn't work for me, too, and
reinstalling doesn't fix it. I have Ubuntu Intrepid i386 fully updated,
kernel 2.6.27-7-generic, driver nv.

The same is for me even with the new 4.1rc, but I suppose that it
depends on the icon theme used in Gnome. I checked a couple of the
default ones and they don't have icons for kde apps, and in fact if I
use tango, no kde4 icons are shown in main menu. But after

I got the same after Italian localization installation, but there is a
fix that I got from this post http://www.kde-

Changing the regional locale from Default to Italia and then set the
language Italiano make kded4 loading the module
I got the same, but only after installing (Italian) localization (before
everything worked fine). The same for bug #182719 for German one. I
fixed setting Italian locale and languages, and automatically kded4
loaded kdedglobalaccel module.
