We've now had this happen multiple times within a few days, and sometimes hours.
The machine has also started freezing completely.
The number of open file descriptors for apcupsd jumps from ~25 to ~160
instantly and the machine then just dies within an hour. Have had to turn off
apcupsd for now.
Confirmed this is still an issue on 22.04.4 LTS.
Basically the same setup as OP.
We've had it happen twice, first time on Jan 24, and the second time today on
March 27.
Restarting the daemon with systemd resolves the issue.

Power consumption is the same and NVMe has ASPM L1 enabled both before and
after suspend/resume. I have been running the kernel for a few hours now and

For the official 5.10-oem-1025 it seems like disabling d3cold for nvme fixes
the issue. ASPM L1 Enabled for nvme and power consumption after suspend/resume

It does not solve the issue. I have tried 2 test/reboots.
Power consumption seems better with new kernel just after boot - around 1.5W

I then ran a new install and this the option to select "Erase disk" was
suddenly available. So it looks like the bug is related to the current
install?

I am having the exact same issue with a wireless installed brother MFC-L2740DW
on Ubuntu 16.04.3.
Installed the repository as suggested here. Now libsane version is

I see this bug marked as "fix released" in January and that it should be
fixed 2.76-4.1, however I only see version 2.76-4 even if I in the
"Software & Updates" settings set my "Ubuntu Software" to download from
"Main Server".
