I think this bug should be attacked in two ways: 1) try to work with firefox and nvidia to fix this and 2) fix launchpad. The bug is elsewhere, but launchpad being broken with the default ubuntu browser with pretty much the default configuration of any nvidia linux user is very bad usability.
