After building dymo-cups-drivers-1.2.0 things work fine and the driver
is located automatically. I had to install libcupsimage2-dev and
libcups-dev. I would really like to see this properly packaged and
distributed; my dad would have been impressed if it had worked out of
the box. ;)
I'm seeing this bug on Arch Linux with 2.6.38-1 from testing, too. I
think it's an obvious kernel regression. I'm about to try compiling the
latest version of compat-wireless and see what I get from that.

This is also affecting ath5k for me. Using the compat-wireless tarball
from 3/18/2011 didn't fix anything; reverting to 2.6.37 has fixed the
problem for me. I will try a compat-wireless from a different date soon.

This seems only to occur when the card is in certain modes, like
wireless n or ad-hoc. I will be filing a bug report with the kernel
later tonight.

I have the same problem. Using different codecs doesn't help. I have
webcam with device id 046d:0990, a Quickcam Pro 9000. I am not using
Ubuntu, but ArchLinux, so this is probably an upstream bug.

I should also note that audio is out of sync immediately for me and
remains out-of-sync through the whole video. The audio seems to drift
increasingly out of sync because no preset delay or FPS-fiddling seems
to fix the thing entirely.

Seriously guys. Every time I reinstall Ubuntu I do some hacking to make
kuickshow work, and I haven't seen any conflicts yet, nor any reason why
it shouldn't be included in the standard distribution.
I like kuickshow much more than the replacements suggested. Please add
it back.

Confirmed by two users ... in progress because the code snippet I
included in the original post fixes it, but that snippet hasn't been
committed. Maybe I should get hooked up with some SVN or something.
