I have this issue on my N210 on Maverick (2.6.35). Screen stays black
after resume. I've installed a Lucid kernel (2.6.32). This kernel does
resume from suspend properly and seems to work ok with Maverick
otherwise too.

Turns out, I also had to remove the connman package also. Apparently
this takes ownership of the NetworkManager dbus service or something
like that.

I had this issue because I accidentally installed package usbmount.
Devices get mounted /media/usbn in that case and are owned by root.

I have this issue on two lucid amd64 machines with nvidia proprietary
drivers and NOT with another lucid amd64 machine with ati proprietary
drivers. So could this be related to they nvidia proprietary blobs? Just
a hunch, could be other differences.

Depending on timidity may not be a good idea, because people with midi hardware
or soundcards that support midi in hardware probably don't need or even want a
software midi synthesizer like timidity.
Rosegarden should *suggest* timidity, which it doesn't do currently (jaunty)

I have what I think is the same problem. Windows XP guest on jaunty x86_64 host:
$ kvm -hda windows_xp.qcow2 -boot c -m 1024 -localtime -serial /dev/ttyS0
Setting the baudrate on Windows also modifies the baudrate on the jaunty
host, but no data is transferred.
When I run:
$ qemu -hda
