I'm guessing the Scott mentioned is Scott James Remnant? Transitioning
from a init script to an Upstart job is a fairly invasive change for a
LTS SRU, especially for a widely used package like screen. While I agree

Typically the SRU team discourages submission of large debdiffs that
bump up a version to fix the bug. However, filtering out the translation
and autoconf noise, the patch is fairly reasonable and I don't have an

source-copy from maverick to lucid-proposed, (and then once SRU
verification completes, binary-copy to lucid-updates)

Due to the special circumstance (A completely nonfunctional, FTBFSed package in

I have a 17 Unibody Macbook Pro that had a fresh install of Ubuntu done
with Lucid alphas, regularly updated, and I attempted to upgrade grub2
and the system booted fine.
So at least on my machine, I cannot reproduce this bug.
