Is not the same bug, but I had a problem with the screen and intel
graphic card, at the kernel 3.8.0-r5 they solved. Try to update with the
mainline kernel to try if it happends.

Mainline Kernel 3.8.0 , black screen after
I have a Acer v3-571g, I have the kubuntu installed. Kernel 3.8 only
works with an external display. The nomodeset trick doesn't work.
