I can tell what I did to mitigate this bug, and It’s worked for me (do
it as power user or root):
1. Completely purge installed AIDE:
apt purge aide aide-common
rm -rf /var/log/aide
2. Install AIDE back again:
apt update
apt install aide-common aide-dynamic
3. Then rebuild config:
FTR, on Archlinux this option is also not used, however the `--type
writecache` works fine. So either something changed in later versions,
or it might be that some other `configure` option is needed. The

@edholden I'm glad you pinned down the problem! I think you might want

To manage
I can actually get an sata error pretty easy (different messaged thou):
Steps:
1. run dd if=/dev/sdb of=/dev/null bs=1M (sdb attached to ata6).
2. Suspend the system to ram (I used the power button).
3. Wait to suspend.
4. Wake up the system after 2-5 secs.
Result: Sata error messages below
It happened again in less than 30 mins. Thou this one is kind-a weird
since iterations display 0,1 and than jumps to 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29,
30 (tag 30).

This happened again after 16 days (and it happens when I resume from
suspend from ram):
