Ok, I am pretty sure it is patch 0502 in the bluez5 patch set. If I enable only 0501 and 0502, and move some code required by 0502 from 0506 and build pulse, enabling 0502 causes Pulse to assert as previously logged. Am in the process of digging through that patch to work out how it changes things
