Before adding ppa:vanvugt/compiz, I had lagging type 1 as well as type 2.
windows move smoothly for some time when I restarted unity, but after some time
window movement always got really jerky.
applying your fix basicly eliminates the lags most of the time, but jerkyness
(inconsistent lag;
Changing the mouse poll rate doesn't fix the problem for me either (oneiric,
geforce gt240m, logitech performance mx mouse).
choppyness happens with all my (logitech) mice and also the internal touchpad.
But the choppyness is gone, the moment I release the mousebutton and stop
moving the mouse.

Too bad, but that's not it.
Everything's set right and I can control in internal sound card, as well as the
usb one with this fixed version.
I just don't get mute-checkboxes, where I need them.

However, this version of gnome-alsamixer does not offer the same functions, the
versions in natty and before offered (ex. no mute-checkboxes for the master
and other sound card elements, except

strangeI get no mute checkboxes, but instead a new auto-mute
checkbox. But this does not get the desired result.
I know about the normal audio controls, but these won't do the trick.
My laptops internal sound card really sucks, it emitts a slight hissing sound
