command in 2.6.31-18 because 2.6.32.12.12 won't boot if plymouth is

At every startup, I'm forced to execute metacity --replace to get it
running again. It might have something to do with an update about not
forcing to start metacity when using a different window manager, though
I don't use compiz or anything

This is the output after a reboot that includes the situation before
running the command and after. I saw some strange change in the
workspaces switcher before and after running the command though. I don't
know if this is helpful, but I will attach a screenshot.

I am using Lucid. ;-)
I noticed that sometimes the wireless internet connection seems to be lost,
pages take ages to load and eventually I get a timeout error. When I reconnect
to the network via the network manager, everything starts

I should mention that the audit messages I get about firefox are not
causing this problem as I get the problem in Thunderbird too. I also
have disabled the Apparmor profile for Firefox, but the problem persist.
(of the timeouts, not the audits of course)
