problem before Linux 3.8 so this most likely regression.

Line 2022-2027 - Google Chrome launch.
Chrome freeze happen later (between line 2027 and 2028) and when that happen
there was no any indications of that in log.
I tried to close Chrome (using menu from KDE taskbar) but Chrome as expected
doesn't react on that because it's frozen. So because
I just notice if you have frozen application, command pulseaudio -k
(PulseAudio restart) help unfreeze it (at least until next freeze).

could you please file a new report
I need to fill new report for every GeForce I tested for this bug (I remember
at least 7300 GT, 7300 Go, 7400 Go, 8600M GT, ION, 240M, etc.) or one? If one,
which one I should choose for bug report?
I pretty sure this issue reproducible not only on 8400M
installing fresh FGLRX from ATI page failed to solve issue

fglrx 8.97 (Catalyst 12.6 Legacy) support legacy hardware (pre-HD5000) but
doesn't support xserver 1.13 so it can not work on Quantal.

I just wondering, why you doesn't report this PowerMizer issues to nVidia?
8400M is still supported, so they should fix this in newer builds of the driver.
