After studying php-fpm architecture, I think the best handling is to
support php7 as php7-fpm. Instead of using mod_php, Apache will have to
connect to php7 through mod_proxy_fcgi. With proper setting, one can
have both php5-fpm and php7-fpm run in parallel. The Apache server can

Tried using the proposed gnome-settings-daemon package for a few days.
The input method switch problem didn't appear at all.
I think it's safe to say that it fixed this bug.

Thanks Mathew. I've just installed the proposed gnome-settings-daemon.
The IM switching seems to be smoother. But since the problem came on-
and-off randomly, it's hard to tell if it is really fixed unless I try
it a few days. I'll get back to this a few days later.

Before the crash, GNOME was not yet displayed the files and folder on
desktop. The system was very slow and unresponsive. I had some GNOME
extensions installed. I'm going to disable some of them and observe the

I specifically find no documentation or firmware about UEFI support of
