Sometime when extracting an archive file, the folder created appear for
a second and vanish. You have to press «reload» to show it again.
From my various tests, it seems to happen when the name of the folder is

Ok so it's not a problem with gdm.conf-custom.
But I don't have a face browser since yesterday night.
And testing with gdmthemetester on every List theme doesn't show any List.

The problem is in gdmsetup.
In gdmsetup, in local tab, in Style choose Themed... All the choices are
available, including face browser, but in gdm the face browser will not
show up.

Looking in the log :

(II) RADEON(0): XAA Render acceleration unsupported on Radeon 9500/9700 and
newer. Please use EXA instead.

Sure it's an informational message, it's not even a warning, but as far as I
know (and I don't know X as much as you do), EXA is the new architecture
designed to replace XAA.
The radeon is using XAA but tell it should use EXA on my card (9600).
Before Intrepid the EXA message wasn't there, so
