I'm actually getting the same thing with my lucid lynx alpha3 install on an IBM T61.For what it's worth, I've had recent hangs with grub in debian as well. Removing the irqpoll option from my boot (left over from a different mobo that died) fixed the hang. Others have said it's driver issues

Thierry, I just installed your ppa network-manager packages on Intrepid, and it's still hanging on shutdown (using wireless) with CIFS VFS errors. A fairly fresh UMPC install on a Dell Mini 9. I ran a continuous ping on the machine and network is unavailable nearly immediately after selecting

Things get even weirder, if I select logout from the gnome panel, network goes away, so I log back in as the same user, and network comes back as expected. But if I log out again, network stays up! Tried logging out again, network still stays up. I noticed, if I log out, and then back in, then
