I actually think this problem is an USB-problem. My Liteon-stick had the same problems when used with my notebook (Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Si 1520). The trick with plugging in the stick and then do a restart worked for me so I did it this way (recompiling V4L broke my webcam). But on my older
