Did home tests which might help: Fedora 18 (beta) with 3.6 kernel (alsa
ver. 1.0.25) works OK with 96kHz rate but not with 192kHz (noise mixed
with sound). Installation of alsa 1.0.25 from sources with Ubuntu kernel
works both with 96kHz and 192kHz but with metallic distortion.

similar problem. They produce sound but with the same metallic tinkling
both on 96kHz and 192kHz freqs. Fedora's 3.6 have fixed 96kHz playback
